Automotive glazing made of polycarbonate
Injection moulding of highly transparent plastic panes
High precision and melt quality are required for the production of highly transparent plastic parts. The gentle plasticising of the material and the platen parallelism of our injection moulding machines makes the production of car windscreens made of polycarbonate is possible. Benefit from our many years of experience and know-how in process engineering.
When processing polycarbonate for optical applications such as automotive glazing, panoramic roofs or lenses, flawless component quality is essential. Optical blemishes significantly reduce the quality of transparent plastic components. Streaks or yellowing lead to rejects and additional costs. At ENGEL, we develop and produce plasticising components in-house. You receive customised screws and non-return valves. The result: the best possible melt quality.
Differences in wall thickness are a criterion for rejects, especially in transparent automotive glazing. With our automatic sheet parallelism control, you can produce car windows made of polycarbonate with low stress and reliability. In combination with our coinmelt injection-compression moulding process, precise components with the same end-wall thickness are produced.
Produce the frame and your polycarbonate automotive glazing in one process step. Thanks to our powerful two-platen machine duo, you can process large-area transparent plastic components safely and cleanly, even in multi-component injection moulding. The generous mould space of our duo series also allows you to operate complex insert moulds. The compact design of the entire system saves valuable space even with very large moulds.
Glass car windows can be directly overmoulded with a seal made of TPE or rubber. Benefit from the concept of our insert vertical injection moulding machine. Thanks to the vertical design and the easily accessible mould area, we can also implement your projects with complex automation.
Are you struggling with process fluctuations? Your component suddenly has flaws? Our global application engineers support you with these challenges. Around the clock, whether on-site or remotely.
