The New Control Concept for Enhanced Ergonomics, Personalisation, and Operational Safety
With the CC300 plus, ENGEL introduces an advanced control concept that excels with improved ergonomics and personalisation options. This control system seamlessly integrates digital assistance systems into the production process, enabling data-driven decisions that significantly reduce scrap and downtime. One of the most notable features of the CC300 plus is its intuitive operation, allowing even less experienced staff to safely and efficiently work with complex injection moulding machines. This relieves specialised personnel and contributes to stabilising production performance. Visitors to the ENGEL stand can experience the benefits of the CC300 plus at the Expert Corner.
From November 2024, a new process optimisation checklist will be integrated as standard in the ENGEL CC300 and CC300 plus control systems. This function interactively guides users through the available digital assistance systems to ensure that processes are optimised in the correct sequence. By doing so, sources of errors are minimised, and efficiency is maximised - the machine's "green mode" is activated. The process optimisation feature can also be retrofitted to machines already equipped with CC300 controls via a software upgrade, providing valuable support to operators in running the system optimally.
At Fakuma 2024, ENGEL will introduce an automatic leak detection system for hot runner systems. This option, fully integrated into ENGEL’s tool heating system, detects temperature control errors early, preventing costly repairs due to tool over-moulding. The system significantly contributes to avoiding tool downtime or even production outages. The leak detection system identifies material leaks within the tool, compares them against tolerance thresholds, and responds with an adjustable alarm reaction. ENGEL thereby ensures significantly higher operational safety and improves quality assurance.
Another highlight is the new, highly flexible user login system in ENGEL’s control systems. "Not everyone should have access to the machine – operators need to know the basics," reflects the sentiment of many production managers. While the standard EUROMAP65 login system allows almost anyone to log in to the machine, the new login system enables the allocation of user levels and access permissions by an authorised person. The system also allows login with almost any card, theoretically even a Visa card, enhancing both security and flexibility in production.
Visitors to Fakuma 2024 will have the opportunity to experience these and other innovative solutions from ENGEL live.
